You may have seen that we recently started the process of recruiting a person to help us research, prepare and write the Neighbourhood Plan.
Applications are now coming in and we have already spoken to some very interesting people about this role. Depending on when you see this article, there may just be enough time to submit an application for the job – the closing date is 5 February (contact the Town Council on 01245 321817 if you want to know more).
Producing the Neighbourhood Plan will take about 3 years of hard work to complete and this demonstrates how important and wide ranging the project is. In this time we expect to be considering the future of South Woodham Ferrers and the many aspects and features of the town that impact on our lives.
Where we live, where we work, how we travel and what we do in our leisure time will doubtless all be considered and we will need your views and ideas to shape the future.
Our Plan Co-ordinator is likely to become a well known face in the town as they work with us all to bring all this together.
However, even if you are not applying for the role of the Plan Co-ordinator we will be keen to keep you informed and involved in the project. We make no apologies for reminding residents of the invitation to attend the Annual Town Meeting on the evening of Friday 8 April 2016. Come and join us at Champions Manor Hall Community Centre to learn more about Neighbourhood Planning and we hope by then that we will have our new Plan Co-ordinator in post for you to come and meet too.
If in the meantime you want to register your interest to help research and produce the Plan, do contact us at the Town Council on 01245 321817.
In the weeks ahead we will be helping to explain how the Plan is to be produced, how it is used to help shape future development and how you can help. Our journey together has just started.
