South Woodham Ferrers Town Council has pleasure in introducing Debbie Edwards the new Neighbourhood Plan Co-ordinator, Debbie has been employed to facilitate the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group and support the Town Council in producing The Plan.
What is a Neighbourhood Plan and the Local Plan?
Chelmsford City Council is in the process of developing their Local Plan, which will guide development up to 2036 and will include plans to provide an additional 14,000 homes in the area of Chelmsford. the Neighbourhood Plan is a document that will be produced by the South Woodham Ferrers community and will influence the plans and policies which affect the local area.
Once the Neighbourhood Plan is approved it will become a statutory document that will guide the determination of planning applications by Chelmsford City Council. When the Town Council has a Neighbourhood Plan there will be access to Community Infrastructure Levy Funds, which will support improvements to the local community facilities and infrastructure.
The Steering Group needs volunteers to help produce this Plan. You do not need to have any specialist knowledge just a love of South Woodham Ferrers and a vision of how you want to see the town in the future.
